David Munro
College, Ezra Stiles '68 from United States
After graduating from Yale in 1968, I served in the Peace Corps in Libya and Iran. I returned to the US to obtain an MA in Middle Eastern History from Harvard and then embarked on a banking career in the Middle East. I worked with a number of international banks before becoming an independent consultant in the mid-1980’s. I've worked on various projects for USAID and the World Bank throughout the area, as well as in Russia and Mongolia. I've spent most of the past three years in Iraq, but I'm leaving soon for Nigeria to serve as International Finance Corporation (IFC) consultant with a local bank. When not on assignment, I live in Luxor, Egypt, where I own the Oasis Cafe.
